The below trends combine species’ trends from the European Union into multispecies indicators, calculated with data from the International Waterbird Census (IWC). The species are grouped according to their status under the European Union Birds Directive: Annex 1 (protected) species, Annex 2 (huntable) species and species not listed on the Annexes but occurring in sufficient numbers during the IWC in the EU to produce a trend.
